NSF HSI National STEM Resource Hub Rapid COVID-19 Response

Letter to  the HSI Community:

The Jumpstart Grantsmanship Workshops in NY/PR/FL that were scheduled for March and April 2020 and were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic will be offered during May 2020.

We are committed to supporting the HSI community’s  grantsmanship efforts and for this reason we collaborated in the  design of a virtual online workshop that will be offered over two, 5-hour days .

These workshops are for confirmed registrants of the cancelled workshops in Hunter College, EDP University, and  Miami Dade College.

Session content:

  • Session 1: May 14/15 Foundations: Introduction to the HSI Initiative and grant review process [NSF HSI Initiative; NSF organization: NSF STEM education funding opportunities; mock grant review; Q&A with expert panel; “homework” for session 2]
  • Session 2: May 28/29 Proposal Design: Crafting your grant proposal [interactive hands-on grant research & writing sessions; Q&A with expert panel]

Workshop dates:

  • Cohort 1: Thursdays May 14 & 28 (10:30 am-4:30 pm EDT)
  • Cohort 2: Fridays May 15 & 29 (10:30 am – 4:30 pm EDT)

Special thanks are due to Derrick Brazill and Carmen I Negron-Castro for their support of the Face2Face workshops at Hunter College in NY and EDP University in Puerto Rico, respectively.

We are eager to move forward on this online training platform and look forward to working with the attendees toward fulfillment of their HSI STEM education goals.
