HSI STEM HUB EVALUATION TEAM.
The Evaluation Center serves as the external evaluation team for the HSI-STEM HUB. The Evaluation Center is situated within the School of Education and Human Development at the University of Colorado Denver and operates as an affiliate entity within a major research university. Founded on November 4, 2004, the Center has over 14 years of experience providing evaluation services to clients, including K-12 public school systems, non-profit organizations, biomedical research universities, and private professional development programs.
The Evaluation Center team consists of an executive director, two associate directors, two senior evaluators, three senior evaluation specialists, three evaluation specialists, an evaluation coordinator, and a cadre of well-qualified masters and doctoral students. As an organization, we abide by the American Evaluation Association’s Guiding Principles for Evaluators and are certified through the Collaborative Institutional Training Collaborative (CITI) to conduct human subjects research. Every project is staffed with a lead evaluator and support staff who work consistently with project stakeholders to create strong working relationships necessary to produce rigorous program evaluation.
Staff members represent a variety of academic fields including education, public health, business, anthropology, counseling, public policy, sociology, and psychology. The team is strong in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methodologies. We implement a diverse range of evaluation theories, approaches, and data technologies such as social network analysis and geographic mapping. We approach every evaluation through the lens of equity and emphasize a participatory approach; and seek to ensure that all voices are represented, the rights of participants are protected, and evaluation is used to improve lives and support communities.
